Anyone who knows me knows that I love lists. So I’ve decided to make a top-ten list (in no particular order) to tell you all about me.
I’m Nebraska-born and raised. I grew up on our family farm near Palmer. While I didn’t always appreciate farm-living as a kid, I’m so thankful for it now. My parents taught me about hard work and the importance of family.
I’m the middle of three kids. I’m very close with my family, probably because we didn’t have to jockey for positions. We each had our place. Keith is the oldest. Matt is the youngest. And I am the only girl.
I love to stay busy. As a kid I was involved in all sorts of school activities - choir, show choir, jazz band, yearbook, volleyball. Now as an adult, I stay busy with my kids’ activities, church involvement, and of course school.
I’m a Husker through and through. Not only did I graduate from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln but I married a man who has taught me just what it means to be a Husker fan. Go Big Red!
My husband, Travis, is my best friend. We met in elementary band (we both played the trumpet) and were Show Choir partners in high school and have been friends ever since.
I’m a proud mom to my son, Ethan, and my daughter, Ali. They are truly wonderful kids.
I love to read.
I enjoy cooking. We have a family tradition that anytime I try a new recipe (which happens a lot in our house) everyone gets to rate it.
Education is very important to me. It has opened so many doors for me and I believe it opens doors for the kids I work with. It’s one of the reasons I became a teacher and now a principal.
I’m so excited to be a part of the Wood River team. Go Eagles!
