About Me - Craig Huxtable

Hello, my name is Craig Huxtable.  I am a 1988 graduate of Wood River Rural High School.  In high school I participated in football, basketball, track, vocational agriculture, vocal music, and One Act Play.  After high school I went to Hastings Central Community College and studied automotive mechanics for 2 years. After college I came back to farm and utilize my high school and college education for my career.  In 1993 I met the lady of my dreams, (Angie) and on September 10, 1994 we exchanged our wedding vows. In the fall of 1997, we had our first daughter, Cierra. She graduated from Wood River in 2016, and is attending school to become a Registered Nurse.  Cydnee(#2) graduated from Wood River Rural High this last May, and is furthering her education at the University of Nebraska Kearney with a major yet to be determined. Cade (#3) is currently a junior at our high school, and we are enjoying his last two years of school and activities and he will also continue his education beyond high school.

I currently farm corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and native prairie hay.  I have also built a cow herd in the last 30 years utilizing artificial breeding.  5 years ago I had the opportunity to promote seed products, and I am currently a Hoegemeyer seed dealer.  I have entered my 3rd year serving the community as a school board member.  I currently hold the position of Vice President of the Board of Education this year, and I am proud to be giving back to our community and the school district I came from.
