Hello! My name is Crystal Stutzman and I am currently serving on the Wood River School Board. I grew up on a farm a few miles east of Cairo and am the 7th out of 10 children. I went to country school District #31 from Kindergarten to 6th grade and I had the same teacher all through elementary. I started with 5 kids in my Kindergarten class and ended up with 2 of us in 6th grade. I then attended Centura Jr/Sr High school where I played volleyball, basketball, was active in FHA, was a cheerleader, in choir and was on the yearbook staff. I also played softball during the summer and bowled on a league during school. I then graduated in 1993. After graduation I attended UNK and a few years later I met my husband Brad and got married.
We live north of Wood River where Brad farms and has a cow/calf operation while I work at Farm Credit Services of America in Grand Island as a loan closing specialist. We are the parents of 3 girls. Alexis is a senior at UNL and is majoring in Hospitality with an emphasis in Event Planning. She currently works for the athletic department as a suite host in the Sky Boxes at Memorial Stadium and keeps busy in her sorority Alpha Phi. Cassidy is a freshman and also attends UNL. She is currently undecided but is leaning towards something in the medical field. She works in the Education department at UNL and is also a member of Alpha Phi. Addison is an 8th grader at Wood River and enjoys playing softball and volleyball.
My family loves to travel whether it be camping during the summer or taking trips to Disney World. Besides traveling I also enjoy watching my kids play sports, reading, working out, listening to all types of music, being active in my church and watching Husker volleyball. I have enjoyed my time so far on the school board and am proud to be a part of this great community and school district.
