My name is Anna Fehringer and I am currently in my seventh year of teaching 5th grade here at Wood River Elementary School. I was born in Lyons, KS and after moving a few times, my family settled in Tecumseh, NE. I graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2002. I then attended Peru State College where I majored in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. While attending Peru State, I also met my future husband, Ben Fehringer. In 2006 we both graduated and a week later got married!
After teaching in several different schools, we settled here in Wood River. In 2013 my husband, Ben, accepted a teaching position and we moved to Wood River. Before school started that fall a position opened up at the elementary school and I was lucky enough to get it! Since then I have been teaching 5th grade here at Wood River Elementary. Currently, Ben is a Physical Education and Strength teacher at Gibbon High School. There he teaches weights classes, PE & health classes, and coaches football, Jr. High basketball, and track! Needless to say between his coaching and our boys playing sports, we spend a lot of time at sporting events!
Both of our boys attend Wood River Elementary School. Jeremy just turned 10 years old and is in 4th grade. He enjoys playing flag football, basketball, baseball, reading, and piano. Matthew is 7 years old and is in 2nd grade. He enjoys wrestling, baseball, spending time with our dog and being an all around ornery little brother! :)
My hobbies include knitting, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with my family. We enjoy going for walks, bike rides, playing ball, and playing board games together. Our family loves living here in Wood River and we can’t imagine making our home anywhere else!
