My name is Becca Moore and I have been working at Wood River since 2008. I am originally from York, NE and grew up the third of four kids. I attended York College and UNL for my degree in elementary education. Shortly after graduation, a mentor told me that before I had my own classroom I should sub, so I became a substitute teacher in GI for two years. While I was subbing, I got a call from the GI Boys town asking me work there and I did. As I worked there, I saw that a lot of the kids were going through so much that often interfered with their ability to focus on school and I really wanted to help them. Fast forward a few years and I landed in Wood RIver, and I decided to become a counselor. In 2017, I graduated from UNK with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an endorsement in School Counseling. I have been so fortunate to be able to stay in Wood River and love getting to have the privilege of helping kids make sense of their world.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking, kayaking, camping, traveling, teaching my nieces and nephews what their parents did as children, spending time with friends and family, and conning my mom into making weighted blankets (I have a lot of them!)
