Eagle Families,
We have been fortunate to have mild weather, though we are just entering winter and are sure to have some days when the weather may impact travel. We try to be in school as much as possible, but when it is not safe, we make every effort to notify you of a late start, early dismissal, or school cancellation as soon as possible. We will communicate these changes through district text alerts, email, social media, and our school website, as well as local TV stations (channels 4, 8, and 10/11). Whenever possible, we aim to make these decisions by 6:00 a.m. Please be sure your contact information is up-to-date and have a backup plan in place for your family in case of schedule changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
I want to take a moment to express our appreciation for our outstanding technology staff. Their expertise and commitment ensure that our wifi network, iPads, computers, door access, camera system, servers, and fiber run smoothly every day. We are truly fortunate to have Nathan Gartner leading the team as our director, with great support from Michele Carter and our librarian, Brenda Hirchert. Their commitment makes a real difference in our schools, keeping teachers and students connected each day.
I would also like to mention that we are looking for a school bus route driver. This is a great part-time position that truly makes a difference in students' lives. It is rewarding to take care of our students, driving them safely to and from school. That pays for 4 hours each day. Each route takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The school district will pay for the training. The driver is provided with a fully paid single health and dental insurance, as well as a small fee for eye care insurance. If you are interested, please call the school at 308-583-2249.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. tzessin@wrrsd.org
Have a wonderful week,
Terry
