Good evening, Wood River MS/HS Families,
We are excited for the first day of school tomorrow. Reminder: we will be dismissing at 1:00 pm. We have a fun day planned — we'll start in the auditorium, move through each of our classes, and finish with a slip-and-slide kickball tournament presented by our Student Lighthouse members. Any student who wants to participate should bring or wear school-appropriate PE attire. We recommend the following:
Dark colored shirts
Dark colored shorts of appropriate length
Dark colored leggings
Clothing will get wet and possibly dirty. We've also attached the bracket and rules for tomorrow's games.
Parents and guardians, please join us at 6:00 pm in the auditorium for a presentation from Jay Martin, Director of School Safety and Security for the Nebraska Department of Education. He will speak on digital platforms and A.I. — including social media, chatbots, and artificial intelligence — and discuss why building digital wisdom and resilience is essential for youth digital health and well-being. Attending this presentation will waive your student's iPad fee for the 2026-2027 school year.
