Hello Eagle Families,
Today is September 1, and we are already 16 days into the school year! Things have gotten off to a great start, and all of our activities are underway.
Work Hard • Build Community • Lead the Way
Our district vision guides the work we do each day. Here are a few things happening around Wood River:
Work Hard – Academics
Our teachers are focused on helping students grow, especially in reading, math, and science. We will set our school goals at the September 14 school board meeting.
Build Community – Be Present
We are working toward at least 95% attendance districtwide. Did you know that missing just 17 days of school in a year is considered chronically absent? Being present matters—not just academically, but because students are an important part of our school community.
Lead the Way – Student Leadership
Students will continue developing leadership skills, including maintaining leadership portfolios to document their growth and accomplishments.
JAG
This is our second year offering Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) at the middle and high school. We are excited about the opportunities it provides our students as they prepare for life after high school. Please watch this video of former student Aidan Richardson

Remember that Safe2Help is available if you or your student has a concern and isn't sure what to do. It provides a way to make an anonymous report. See this link.
Reminder: Our next school board meeting is September 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria.
